Hello, welcome to our challenge blog. One night while commiserating about our affliction, Lea and I thought up a great idea on how to make a dent in our long lost and forgotten stash of scrapbooking items. You know how it goes, new products come out and some where along the way what was new 6 months ago, gets shoved to the side as all the new goodies keep coming and you keep buying...We thought what better way to branch out creatively than to have a few challenges to help us out. You all know you have those items way back in your drawer or the bottom of your bag. Maybe you just aren't sure how to best use a particular item that you just had to have. Well, that is where we come in. This blog started out for our enjoyment, but we figured what the heck, let's post our challenges for everyone. We may just get you inspired to pull out those long lost eyelets, or that never used scrappy tool. So, we hope you come along for the ride... get ready to start using your SCRAPBOOK stash. =) =)

November Challenge

November challenge time!!!  This one was a fun one and truly challenging.  So how many of you are addicted to buying holiday paper?  And how many holiday layouts do you do each year?  Do you see where I’m going here?  I love buying holiday paper!!!  But then when it comes time to scrap certain holiday pictures sometimes I use the holiday paper and sometimes I feel that the pictures would work better with something else.  So I have a large excess of holiday paper and need to start using more of it up so I can justify buying the new holiday paper when it comes out. So our challenge to you this month is to use holiday paper for a non-holiday layout!!  The types of holidays include but are not limited to Halloween, Christmas, and Easter.  I realize 2 of the 3 of these are Christian holidays as these are the holidays that I celebrate however if you have excess holiday paper for whatever holiday you celebrate, by all means submit a layout!!!   And to make this a tad harder on ya, try to stay away from Valentine's paper.  It’s just too easy to use hearts on non Valentine’s Day layouts. And of course, the older the paper is, the better.  =)

And to inspire you, here are the Design Team's first submissions. They really did a great job, didn't they? Fabulous!!!!

Lynnda
isn't this just the cutest layout?? i love how she used the stars and snowflakes and those super cute saying strips... she used Collage Press Joyride papers. =)

Karen
I love how she made a wreath out of those circles and sewed them all together..Fabulous.  and well, the baby is just so cute..

Lena
love, love what she did with the stars. She made those stars out of different Christmas papers by sewing strips of paper together and then cutting out the shapes. the colors are awesome. the photo on here is actually a picture of a painting she did. isn't that amazing???

Yara
she really knows how to use the mist, doesn't she???? it just pops off the page. I love this. she used some older Basic Grey Blitzen papers from 2005.

Sue
the colors on this one is awesome. I love the use of the cardinals and the title. she used some Making Memories Mistletoe line for these fab pictures. love the color on the recent pic and b/w on the older pics.

Deb
oooh. these are some of my favorite papers from October Afternoon's Very Merry. soooooooo cute!!! isn't that an awesome photo? i love that title. cute, cute!!!
Kate
the contrast on this one is so striking. love the red on the black paper. Kate used some peppermint stick paper and all those cute masking tapes. love!!!!!!!
Cari
isn't the title fun???? Cari created 3 layouts for this challenge. the first one she didn't like, so she started over. I gave her this title bling and she used that as the starting point for this fun picture of her daughter. she used some Fancy Pants trick or treat papers, some doodlebug and other halloween scraps.

Theresa
I used some Basic Grey Wassail papers, and Tim Holtz grungeboard that I embossed, and I used distress ink and perfect pearls on it. I think my fav item is the little jingle bell hanging from the Deer's neck. =)
Lea
well, I think she gets the vote for most risque title. =)  i love how she used the Halloween paper with those cute pictures of Gavin. the layout is definitely a little Batty!!! heehee.

I had already created a layout using Valentine themed paper on a Halloween layout when Yara invited me to link it here (thank you, Yara!) There's also a layout using Halloween papers on a non Halloween layout. The submission tool was super-easy! and that gallery of layouts at the top of your blog is great eye candy.
